The challenge
172,000 SKUs across two languages
23k sealed products plus 149k trading cards (Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, Lorcana). Italian and English mixed across titles and descriptions, often within the same product.
Default search returned junk
Customers searching "gdt cooperativi" got nothing. "Magic black lotus" returned every Magic card except the right one. Zero-result rate hovered around 11%.
330k+ keywords to manage
The synonym graph alone needed real tooling: ITA↔ENG translation pairs, abbreviations, brand variants, internal slang. Excel was not going to scale.
The solution
HorusFinder replaced PrestaShop's default search with a hybrid OpenSearch index, two parallel language analyzers, a tunable synonym graph, and real-time sync hooks. Setup took the merchant a single afternoon. The synonym graph was bootstrapped from existing keyword data and now grows automatically from real query logs.
